Welcome back! To our series where we explore accessibility across Door County, Wisconsin — from restaurants and shops to trails and beaches. Navigating new places with a wheelchair, walker, or mobility device isn’t always easy, but knowing what to expect can make all the difference in planning a great trip. We’re not here to criticize businesses — we’re here to share what works, what helps, and what we love, so others can experience the best of Door County with confidence and joy.
𝙆𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝘼𝙨𝙝 𝘾𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 𝙄𝙣 𝙀𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝘽𝙖𝙮 has become one of our favorite spots to grab a coffee and browse for unique gifts.Honestly, the first few times we visited, I would run inside while Jeremiah waited in the car because the giant staircase out front made us assume there wasn’t an accessible way in. We had no idea there was actually a ramp entrance around the back of the building!Eventually, we called and asked if there was a way for him to get inside — and we were so excited to learn there is. On the southwest side of the building, they have beautiful gardens, a ramp, and deck access that leads right in.And honestly… that entrance might be even better than the main entrance.
So if stairs at the front have ever stopped you from visiting, don’t let them! Swing around back, enjoy the peaceful garden path, grab an amazing coffee, and definitely try the granola!
We’d love to hear from you! Have you visited KICK ASH? What was your experience with accessibility there? Share your favorite accessible spots in the comments — we’ll add them to our list for future visits!
